Camesa was founded in 1957. Currently is has
four production facilities:Cuautitlan and
Vallejo, located in Mexico City metropolitan
area, Rosenberg in Texas, U.S., and Lima, Peru.
This division designs, manufactures, and
commercializes mechanical wire rope,
electromechanical cable, and high carbon
steel-wire rope.
Camesa's
wire rope is used in several industries: mining,
fishing, oil, and electric power transmission. It is also
employed in mobile and tower cranes, power shovels and drags, traveling
derricks, and elevators. The electromechanical
cable, has special electrical and mechanical properties and it is mainly used to register
environmental and geological conditions in
drilling and preparing oil wells. The wire rope
is produced at the Vallejo and Rosenberg plants.
As a high
carbon steel wire and rope manufacturer, Camesa
has strong domestic market leader position producing the
largest share of national output. Internationally, Camesa is one of the
ten largest high carbon steel wire and rope
producers worldwide, and exporting to North, Central, and South America, export sales account
for 65% of total sales.
Camesa's
high carbon steel wire not only is utilized in manufacturing its own steel ropes, but also has
several applications, such as pre-stressed wire
and strand for construction, mattresses and furniture inner springs, springs for mechanical
and industrial use, railroad ties, bronzed wire
for tire beads, and more. All these products are
manufactured at the Cuautitlan Plant.
